[ABSTRACT] The complex social environment in Modern and contemporary times where the Khorchin Mongols lived in along with the cultural exchange and fusion within Mongolian tribes, the cultural infiltration from other nationalities and the regional culture changes of Khorchin Mongols promoted the inheritance and development of Mongolian Narrative Folk Songs. The rapid change of Mongolian economy and society in modern and contemporary times , along with the all-round contact and infiltration of languages and cultures of Mongolian and Han Nationality facilitated the cultural communication between Mongolian and Han and the development of Mongolian Narrative Folk Songs which proved to be the most active time. The cultural soil and cultural context formed as the consequence of the collision of Mongolian traditional culture, regional culture and ethnic cultural is an important factor and distinctive characteristics of the rising and development of Mongolian Narrative Folk Songs in Modern and contemporary times. Furthermore，it makes the Mongolian Narrative Folk Songs in Modern and contemporary times unique and irreplaceable. Aided with the study of the origin of Mongolian Narrative Folk Songs, we can find the coexistence of “variety” and “unity” in the formation of regional culture in national areas and the origin of the grass-roots culture in Khorchin area. In the course of its inheritance, Mongolian Narrative Folk Songs constantly combined with the evolution of people's social life, thoughts and folk custom. Additionally, it enriched its forms of expression and cultural connotations. The renovation of ideological and thinking caused by the development of social life often lead to the emergence of a new genre of folk literature -- Mongolian Narrative Folk Songs.
