本研究は, 千葉県船橋市の農業を対象にして, 次の2点から経営発展について考察した.一つは市全体63農業集落の地域類型化した結果, 五つの類型に分けることができた.発展している地域構成を解明することによって, 都市近郊農業の発展方向が二つに分けることができる.一つは地域に適合する作物を選択し, 高度な生産技術の導入による農業経営である.もう一つは, 高収益作物との複合により, 高度資本集約的な農業経営である.今回は, 前者の方向について, 家族経営を調査した.調査対象は同市米ヶ崎町集落の委託記帳農家である.その経営の1955年からの作付変化、生産手段、地力維持、労働様式、出荷方法などについて聞き取り調査及び記帳委託調査により, 経営の段階的移行の論理を明確にした.都市近郊野菜作経営の発展は純畑作地帯と違って, 近郊の優位な市場条件を生かして, 少品目段階→多品目段階→「近郊型」品目特化段階→高度多品目段階の方向性を持って発展してきたことが明らかになった.
This study clarified the developing stages of the vegetable producing management in the suburbs from 1959, by researching and analyzing the changes of planted items and areas, means of production, maintenance of the soil productivity, style of labor and the means of shipment in one of the vegetable producing farming households in Yonegasakicho, Funabashi-shi. We found the management of vegetable producing in the suburbs made good use of its superior market conditions, and it developed through the few-item-stage, the many-item-stage and the suburban-type item-specialized-stage to the high-level-many-item-stage. These developing stages of vegetable producing management in the suburbs are different from those reported in the complete field cropping regions.
