Creating Transcripts of "Imakan" - The 1982 Recording of "Imakan : Mudori Morgen" -

Recently I came into possession of eight cassette tapes of Hezen's epic lmakan as recorded in 1982. The title of the work is Mudori Morgen as told and sung by the famous lmakan singer Ge Desheng. I received the tapes from the family of Xiao Han (now deceased), one of the members of the team that researched Hezen folk culture. The quality of two of the sixteen recordings was such that 1 was not able to distinguish their content. I was, however, able to make a written transcript of the first cassette tape in the alphabetical characters that I first proposed in 2002. In the process of making this Imakan transcript I uncovered several fascinating points of interest. Here, finally, I have the opportunity to show the content of Hezen's epic Imakan.
