内容
[SUMMARY] Ms. Oyungerel came to Beijing in February 2021 to spend Chinese New Year at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gowaa, who are professors at the Minzu University of China. When Sarengerile visited Ms. Oyungerel’s daughter and son-in-law's house to ask about her oral history on the appointed day, Sarengerile was greeted with a smile by a beautiful Mongolian lady, thin and white, with neat teeth and pitch-black hair. Ms. Oyungerel is from Boruhushuu Village, Charasun Township Khorchin Right Wing Front Banner, Hinggan League, Inner Mongolia, China. She was a teacher at the Charasun Primary School of the Front Banner and retired in 2008. Ms. Oyungerel's family were all ancestral folk artists, uligerchi who chant uliger (folk stories) and huurchi who perform huurin uliger (folk stories accompanied by the siqin, a four-stringed bowed instruments), and Ms. Oyunguerel's father was a nonprofessional huurchi. The uncles on her father's side were also huurchi or uligerchi. Ms. Oyungerel herself was interested in huurin uliger, so she used to listen to huurin uliger every day. Ms. Oyunguerel is an ordinary, level-headed mother who understands a schoolteacher's spirit, attitude, and responsibility. Not only could she "saddle a horse and put her foot in the stirrups (this means to raise children well.)", she could also take care of her grandchildren. She did not consider it a hassle to take care of her grandchildren; instead, she considered it a blessing and said many times, "Now I am happy”. This life history of Ms. Oyungerel is not the personal history of one person, but a reflection of the history of the society, and describes a very challenging life experience. If the young people in China today heard that Ms. Oyungerel worked for a year and was paid only 30 or 40 yuan a month and was given porridge and corn boob (cake, steamed cake) to share from the communal dining hall, they would think it was a story from a fairy tale. This life history reflects the difficult social and cultural history of the region and the modern history of the nation.
