[要約] 本研究では，中学校２年「光合成をする部位」の発展的課題として，「光合成は葉のみで行う」という考えを乗り越えて，「緑の部分は全て光合成する」可能性があることを理解できるようになるような読み物とワークシートを開発し，読み物の読解から生徒がどの程度サボテンは茎で光合成していることを理解して説明できるようになったのかを探った。その結果，開発した読み物を読んで，ワークシートに情報を整理したことから，85％以上の生徒が「光合成は葉のみで行う」という考えを乗り越えて，「緑の部分は全て光合成する」可能性があることを理解して，「サボテンは茎で光合成している」を説明できるようになった。
[SUMMARY] This study was performed to investigate how newly developed the reading material and worksheet facilitated students’ scientific explanation of “Site of photosynthesis”. A total of 177 students tackled to explain “Where is the site for photosynthesis in cactus?” in a 1-hour science lesson using the reading materials and worksheets. The students’ responses on the worksheets were analyzed. The results showed that over 85% of the students were able to explain scientifically with confidence “Where is the site for photosynthesis in cactus?”. The students accepted the explanations that the possibility of “photosynthesisin the green part”.
