[要約] この縦断研究では，小学校１年生から３年生にかけて同一の子どもたち（N＝88，１年生時点の平均月齢＝90.08か月）を追跡し，１年生・３年生時点での実行機能や心の理論の能力が，クラスでの仲間からの受容に及ぼす影響を検討した。その結果，１年生時点の実行機能が心の理論を介して同時点の仲間からの受容を予測すること，そして，１年生時点の心の理論は３年生時点の仲間からの受容に対して間接的な効果を持つことが示された。これらの結果は，実行機能や心の理論が児童の社会的適応に及ぼす影響に関する日本での新たな証拠を提供すると共に，実行機能の下位要素を踏まえた研究や児童期の実行機能・心の理論の発達に関するさらなる検討の必要性を提案している。
[SUMMARY] This longitudinal study investigated the roles of elementary schooler’s executive function （EF） and theory of mind（ ToM） as predictors in their peer relationships. At each of the first and third grade points, participants（ N = 88） were assessed EF, ToM, and peer relationships. A Stroop-like task, visual working memory task, and backward digit span task were included in EF battery. The first-order and second-order false belief understanding tasks in Grade 1 and the strange stories task in Grade 3 were used to assess ToM. In addition, the positive socio- metric peer nomination measure was used to assess peer acceptance. Results showed that EF abilities in Grades 1 predicted peer acceptance via ToM ability, and ToM in Grade 1 had an indirect effect on peer acceptance in Grades 3. These findings indicate the vital role of elementary schooler’s EF and ToM on their social adjustments in Japan.
