風台風8218号の緑化樹におよぼした潮風害について, ケヤキとイチョウを指標樹として調査研究を行った.その結果, 台風8218号の中心が関東西部にあるとき降雨が上がり, 南寄りの潮風が関東平野に吹き込んだ.潮風害は東京湾岸から100kmの内陸におよんでいる.被害の度合いは湾岸からの距離に逆相関を示すが, 関東平野の西部・中部・東部の地域によって被害の様相を少し異にする等がわかった.
As Japan is situated in the course of typhoon, there have been some damages to landscaping trees every year. The typhoon No.18 in 1982 gave serious salty wind damage to landscaping trees in the Kanto Plain. Thereby, we mainly studies the relation between the degree of damage and the distance from Tokyo Bay. From the result of this research, the following data were collected. The degree of salty wind damage was in inverse proportion to the distance from Tokyo Bay. The damage extended to the inland as far as 100km from Tokyo Bay. The states of damage differed in the western and eastern areas of the Kanto Plain.
