保育場面における男性保育者の行動特性をユーモアという視点から明らかにすることを目的とし,観察を行なった。第1観察では男性保育者のユーモア行動についての仮説を生成し,第2観察ではその仮説の検証を行なった。男性保育者は女性保育者よりもユーモア行動を多く用い,特に攻撃的なユーモアを身体的に表出することが多かった。そのユーモア行動は,ネガティブ事象(幼児が不適切な行動を示す;失敗・困難に直面する)が存在する場面において,幼児のネガティブ事象の軽減・解決を促進するために用いられていた。結果は保育における人的環境としての男性保育者の存在意義という観点から論じられた。
Behavior of male and female day care teachers were observed for generating hypothesis of behavioral sex differences. Humor behavior was found as typical difference between male and female teachers. Some hypotheses were generated. Hypothesis testing observation supports following hypotheses: Male teachers used humor behavior in their child care work than female teachers; Male teachers expressed more physical aggressive humor behaviors than female teachers; Male teachers expressed their humor behavior at the situation where child confronted a failure and a difficulty. In such negative situation, male teacher's humor behavior decreased child's negative feeling and support the child's problem solving. These results were discussed from the implication of the role of male teachers in early childhood.
